Long‐Term Exercise and its Effect on Balance

Injuries from falling are among the top geriatric health concerns. One third of people over the age of 65 will experience one fall issue per year. As we age, our decreased ability to balance is a major risk factor for falling injuries. A study conducted in the Journal of the Geriatrics Society, concluded that aerobic walking programs and long-term weight training can help increase and maintain our balance.
